Getting Started with Your Minecraft Server
Welcome to BiomeHosting! This guide will help you get your Minecraft server up and running.
Initial Setup
- Access Your Server
- - Log into your dashboard
- - Navigate to your server
- - Click "Start" to launch your server
- Accept the EULA
- - The server will prompt you to accept the Minecraft EULA
- - Click "Accept" to proceed
- Configure Basic Settings
- - Set your server name
- - Configure player limits
- - Adjust difficulty settings
Server Configuration
Server Properties
Edit your server.properties file to customize:
- Server Name: Change the MOTD (Message of the Day)
- Max Players: Set the maximum number of concurrent players
- Difficulty: Choose between Peaceful, Easy, Normal, or Hard
- Gamemode: Set default gamemode (Survival, Creative, Adventure, or Spectator)
- PvP: Enable or disable player vs player combat
World Settings
- World Type: Choose between Default, Flat, Large Biomes, Amplified, or Custom
- Seed: Set a specific world seed for consistent world generation
- Generate Structures: Enable or disable structures like villages and strongholds
Player Management
Whitelist
To restrict access to your server:
- Enable whitelist in server.properties
- Add players using:
/whitelist add - Remove players using:
/whitelist remove
Operators
Grant admin privileges:
/op
Operators can:
- Use all commands
- Bypass spawn protection
- Break blocks in spawn area
